Bespoke systems allow greater customisation by building a system specifically to the requirements of an individual association. The underlying software code is unique to each customer. This comes at a substantial upfront cost - and additional build costs each time upgrades and updates are needed.
By comparison, SaaS embraces a subscription approach where the software is built once, for all customers to use – similar to Microsoft Office, Adobe, MailChimp, Xero and others. You pay a small upfront cost and then a fee to use the software. The platform is continually evolving. New innovations and security upgrades are included in the licence fees. It never becomes obsolete, removing the need for future costly upgrades or a completely new system.
While SaaS solutions are not fully customised, they are highly configurable to individual association needs. So, it makes Enterprise grade software available without the Enterprise level prices.
